Mechanical Engineer or Technician (France)
Position/Missions
Attached to our Mechanical Engineering unit, you will work in the design and industrialisation of parts and sub-assemblies for the company's mechatronic needs (integration of electronic functions in vehicle mechanics).
You will be involved in all phases of a project from design to manufacturing and testing, with the main missions:
- The analysis of the specifications in order to evaluate the impacts on the mechanical design.
- Communication with other departments in the company to develop solutions that ensure the right balance between electronic, mechanical, thermal (component cooling) and economical (serial cost) functions.
- The design of mechanical sub-assemblies in correlation with the type of need (prototype, small or large series).
- The technical interface with suppliers and customers (major contractors in the automotive sector) on mechanical issues, in support of the project manager.
- The definition and the realization of plans.
- The production of prototypes and the monitoring of expected performance during the test phases.
Engineer or technician by training in mechanics, you have acquired a minimum of 2 years of experiences in a similar position or in a position that has given you the tools and habits to approach our field (if possible in the automotive, aeronautics, rail, defence or electronics industry).
Expected skills:
- To know how to lead from scratch a mechanical file with sets, plans of details sides, and all the necessary information for the services purchase and production.
- Have notions about the processes used in large series (foundry, stamping...) without necessarily being a specialist.
- Be able to assemble and test prototypes independently.
- Know how to communicate in operational English with the other entities of the group (Belgium and Germany) and with our international clients.
- You must master SolidWorks, and have notions to perform finite element calculations, especially in the fields of thermal and fluid mechanics.
- Your personal qualities: field person, rigour, manual, good interpersonal skills, adaptability, creative sense.
