Power Electronics Testbench Engineer (Munich)

Job description:
Attached to the division for validation of power electronics systems (inverter, charger, DC/DC, …), you will:

  • You will be working in the Test Center department where power electronics component for automatic transmissions, hybrid and full electric powertrains are built and tested
  • You will be part of the testbenches development team
  • Together with your team, you are responsible for the development and acquisition of new test systems for various components according to the Punch Powertrain development products
  • You translate new test requests in test system requirements
  • You will write hardware and software requirements for new test benches in close cooperation with various R&D stakeholders
  • You will develop test system concepts
  • You will define acceptance criteria for newly purchased test equipment and execute the validation test plan
  • You will discuss these specifications with suppliers.  Based on these discussions, you assist the purchasing team in the supplier choice
  • You will follow-up the supplier during all steps of the project and organize review meetings with all stakeholders at defined milestones
  • You will establish and continuously update your knowledge of market competitive test systems and methods
  • You will build up a network of prominent external partners for test equipment


  • You have a master degree in engineering (electronics, mechatronics, electromechanical or mechanical,…) or equivalent by experience
  • You have experience in the field of automotive testing (in preference in the field of powertrain or transmission testing)
  • You have good knowledge of hybrid and E-vehicles powertrains
  • You have a strong Q-mindset, you are familiar with 5S, housekeeping, preventive maintenance and safety regulations
  • Thanks to your clear communication skills and good knowledge of English, you are proficient in reporting knowledge and results
  • You have a structured, analytical and methodical way of working
  • You are able to organize and plan your work taking into account all boundary conditions and involving all stakeholders
  • You are business fluent in English and feel confident with speaking another language (e.g. German, French)

As part of a highly technical project team, you will participate in all the development phases of our products together with the design teams.
